Blean Village Londis Fireworks Extravaganza

at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury

Wednesday 5 November

Gates open at 5.30pm

Funfair, food & beverage open from 5.30pm

On stage entertainment from 6pm

Fireworks display 7.15pm

We advise you to dress suitably for the weather and bring a torch.

No fireworks (including sparklers) are to be brought on site.

Please make sure you print off your tickets, we are unable to scan tickets from a phone.

Entrances

The main entrance for spectators on foot will be by floodlight one off Old Dover Road. This is situated on the left hand side of Sainsbury’s as you look at the store.

Please have your tickets ready to be scanned at the gates. If you have not bought tickets, please do so before you try to enter through the gates. There will be ticket sellers in the area next to Sainsbury’s.

The Nackington Road Gate will also be open for spectators on foot.

Car Parking

There is no car parking on site (unless you have booked hospitality in JM Recruitment Harris Room or Les Ames

Boxes). Canterbury City Council & Stagecoach are kindly putting on a FREE Park & Ride service from the New Dover

Road Park & Ride.

They will be asking for a charitable donation for the service. The bus will drop you off outside the ground, and will pick up spectators after the fireworks and take them back up to the Park & Ride.

If you are getting dropped off at the ground, we urge you not to use the Sainsbury’s car park as a drop off/pick uppoint as the shop is operating as normal and it will cause congestion.

Stagecoach East Kent: Buses to/from Folkestone via the Elham Valley (route 17) and Hythe (route 18) serve the bus

stops immediately outside the Cricket Ground on Old Dover Road.

Buses to/from Deal (route 12), Dover (route 15), and Folkestone via Hawkinge (route 16/16A) all serve the bus stops on

New Dover Road (a short walk down St. Lawrence Road opposite the ground).

There are frequent buses direct to Canterbury City Centre from the bus stop on New Dover Road adjacent St. Lawrence

Road.

Food & Beverage

There will be a range of food outlets open on the evening including Thai, pizza, jacket potatoes, burgers and chips. The Lime Tree Cafe, Les Ames & Cornwallis Bar (First Floor of the Colin Cowdrey Stand) will both be open to the public from 5.30pm.

Entertainment

The evening’s entertainment will include live music from Ab and the Underclass, the Canterbury Rock Choir, dancing

from the Spitfire Sweethearts, all leading up to the fantastic fireworks which will take place at 7.15pm.

There will be a funfair and competition stalls available all evening (till 9.30pm) next to the five-a-side pitch on the hospital side of the ground.

Glow merchandise will be on sale at the gates as well as on the bank by floodlight 4.
