2010 fixtures released

The eagerly awaited fixtures for the new look 2010 cricket season have now been released and Kent start with a trip to Trent Bridge to play Nottinghamshire in the LV= County Championship, starting on April 15.

Kent, who are back in the first division after their division two championship success, play their first home match against Yorkshire at the St Lawrence Ground a week later. County champions Durham are the visitors to Canterbury for a four-day match starting on May 17 and Kent end their championship season with a trip to Yorkshire, beginning on September 13.

The Friends Provident Twenty20 Cup has been extended for 2010 and Kent Spitfires will play 16 group matches; eight home and eight away. First up is a trip to Essex Eagles on June 2. Kent“s final group game is away at Somerset Sabres on July 18. At present the county is yet to confirm the locations of these fixtures, but will do so in the near future.

There is also a return to the popular Sunday League format this year as the ECB 40 League makes its debut. Kent Spitfires start their 40 over campaign with a home match against Warwickshire Bears on April 25 and finish the group matches with a trip to Durham on September 4. Everyone connected to Kent is looking forward to the new competition. It will be cricket as you remember it and the club is looking to recreate what was a hugely successful period in our history.
