ABC to support Tears For Fears at The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence

ABC will perform as very special guests at Tears for Fears’ Kent concert this summer. The legendary pop band led by charismatic singer Martin Fry will be bringing their most popular hits to the stage at The Spitfire Ground, St.Lawrence, home of Kent Cricket, on Sunday 23 June 2019 ahead of Tears for Fears who are delighted to perform their extensive catalogue of hits to their fans. This is a night not to be missed!

ABC has enjoyed a glittering career to date; resoundingly one of several groups who came along and kick-started the Eighties with their own brand of pop for a ‘new decade’. Led by singer Martin Fry, the band hailing from Sheffield fused the world of disco funk with their own unique new romantic post punk vision.

On its release in May 1982, their debut album The Lexicon of Love crashed straight into the UK album charts at Number One, showcasing the hits songs Tears Are Not Enough, Poison Arrow, The Look Of Love and All Of My Heart. A ground-breaking collection of modern love songs. Voted by many as the best British album of the decade, it remains a classic to this day.

Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of LHG Live said: “Tears for Fears have amassed fans across the globe and continue to enthral through their unequivocal catalogue of hits. We are absolutely thrilled to be working with them this summer, and of course to now announce ABC as part of the line-up.

“They are by far the perfect choice of special guest for the evening and have been delighting fans for decades. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!”
