Academy lose opener v Surrey

Kent Cricket Academy lost their opening fixture of 2017 by just five runs against Surrey at Bexley.
Under-17 duo Wajid Shah (63) and Isaac Dilkes (43) added 86 for the fifth wicket as Kent fell short chasing 207 to win at Manor Road.
Taylor Chandler and Shaun Evans took two wickets each with Nick Ward and scholars Tom Davis, Ollie Hills and Jan Gray taking a wicket each in tidy spells to restrict the visitors to 206.
The Academy fixtures resume after summer exams with a trip to Essex Academy on July 9 before matches against Bexley, Sussex, MCC and Sandwich Town.
