Academy scholars play at Bunbury Festival 2016

A quartet of Kent Cricket Academy scholars played in this year’s Bunbury Festival where the cream of budding English cricket talent compete every summer.

Wicketkeeper Jordan Cox, bowler Tom Davis and batsmen Joe Gordon and Julian O’Riordan represented London & East Under 15s at the English Schools Cricket Association event at Radley College.

London & East beat eventual winners Midlands and The North either side of a defeat to South & West in the 50-over event.

O’Riordan top-scored with 39 v the Midlands, Gordon hit 22 versus The North and Davis claimed 1/34 and 1/35 in the victory with Jordan Cox taking four catches in the two matches.

In the 20-over event, Cox was a matchwinner against the North with an unbeaten 86 off 75 balls to seal a six-wicket win after he took a catch and a run-out in the field.
