Birthday boy Adam Riley celebrated turning 23 with three wickets for MCC as they fought back on day two of the Champion County match versus Yorkshire in Abu Dhabi.

The Sidcup-born Kent Cricket Academy graduate bowled four maidens in 31 overs with the pink ball, claiming the scalps of England Lions colleagues Tim Bresnan and Adam Lyth.

His spells included four maidens with 140 of his 187 deliveries dot balls in front of the watching England and MCC skipper Alastair Cook.

Riley broke a 91-run third-wicket stand between Lyth (113) and Steven Patterson (36) by bowling the latter as the MCC fought back to reduce Yorkshire to 195-5 before wicketkeeper Andy Hodd (57) fought back, adding 104 with Lyth for the sixth wicket.

Hodd departed after a smart catch by Kent's Sam Billings off the bowling of Surrey paceman Matthew Dunn.

With Graham Onions sidelined as a precaution with injury, the spinners bore the workload with Zafar Ansari taking two wickets in support of Riley.

Former Kent man Michael Carberry struck with the second ball of a late cameo as Yorkshire posted 372, a lead of 151.

In reply, MCC's openers Cook and Nick Compton reached 13 without loss at stumps.
