Monday 24th April 2017
Kent vice-captain Alice Davidson-Richards hit an unbeaten 74 and took a wicket as England beat Ireland in a 50-over friendly in their training camp in the United Arab Emirates.
The 22-year-old all-rounder hit eight fours and a six in her 75-ball innings as England scored 379 and the Tunbridge Wells seamer took 1/6 in four overs as Ireland lost by 276 runs at the Sheik Zayed Nursery Ground in Abu Dhabi.
The Tunbridge Wells right-hander is one of seven England Academy players training alongside 17 centrally-contracted senior players before the ICC Women’s World Cup on home soil this summer and the Ashes series Down Under this winter.
Kent off-spinner Laura Marsh also took a wicket in a 25-over match against a UAE boys’ side later in the day.
Meanwhile, Kent begin their Royal London Women’s One-Day County Championship season on the road this weekend.
The 2016 double-winners begin their title defence with fixtures at Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire on Sunday (30 April) and Bank Holiday Monday (1 May).
