Andy Griffiths appointed Kent Community Cricket Director

Kent Cricket Board has announced that Andy Griffiths has been appointed Community Cricket Director with immediate effect.

Andy joined the Kent Cricket Board in 2007 from Robert Horne Paper, as Community Cricket Manager and has since then brought a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm in to the development of cricket in the county.

Andy will lead a new look Kent Community Cricket Team. Andy replaces Clair Gould who left earlier this month to take up a role at the University of Kent.

Jamie Clifford, Chairman of Kent Cricket Board, commented: “I would like to congratulate Andy on his appointment. He has been a champion for cricket in clubs and schools over the last 7 years and I am sure he will use that experience to help further the game in the county.”

Andy Griffiths, Director of Community Cricket, said: “I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to lead the team in a new era for cricket in Kent.

"I have seen the game change hugely in the last 7 years and I firmly believe we have a real opportunity to change the game and enthuse people to take up the sport. I have a fantastic group of people within the community cricket team and I can’t wait to get started."

Kent County Cricket Club and Kent Cricket Board are working towards becoming one organisation with the goal of delivering under a new ‘Kent Cricket in the Community’ programme before the end of the year.
