Thursday 6th August 2015
Adam Ball and Alex Blake both hit tons in a 218-run partnership that settled the 2nd XI Trophy match against Hampshire at Polo Farm.
Blake smashed 151 from 93 balls including 16 fours and eight sixes whereas Ball's 103 came from 110 balls at the other end.
Academy scholar hit a fluent 29 before useful contributions from Robert Sehmi, Mitch Claydon and Adam Riley at more than a run a ball.
In reply, Hampshire never got going with Mitch Claydon claiming 3-37 with the new ball and Sam Weller taking 2-33.
Then the spin of Fabian Cowdrey (4-26) and Adam Riley (1-22) combined to dismiss the visitors for just 155 to seal a 212-run win.
