Beaumont carries bat as England level series

Kent captain Tammy Beaumont carried her bat as England squared the one-day series against India in Nagpur.

The opener scored a patient 39* on a slow surface that suited the spinners as the tourists chased down the hosts’ 113 to set up a decisive third and final match.

Spinners Danielle Hazell (4/32) and Sophie Ecclestone (4/18) ripped through the India line-up before Beaumont and Danni Wyatt (47) helped England cruise to victory with 21 overs to spare.

Returning skipper Heather Knight (26*) hit the winning runs to cap a comprehensive win.

Beaumont is set to make her 50th ODI appearance in Thursday’s decider.
