Billings bows out BBL with Brisbane win

Kent wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings achieved an average of 31.25 in four innings of his five-match Big Bash League spell with Sydney Sixers.

The Sixers came from behind to defeat Brisbane Heat at the Gabba to record a third win to rise to third place in his last appearance before jetting out to join England's ODI and T20 series in India.

The 25-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate said: "What an experience the BBL has been, an awesome competiton & what a group the Sixers are! Thanks to everyone for memories for life."

The Sixers opened with a derby win against Thunder before taking a catch and hitting 42 in defeat to Hobart Hurricanes.

Billings hit 40 off 30 balls in his next two innings: a six-wicket triumph over Perth Scorchers before a 48-run loss to Adelaide Strikers.

Sam scored a run-a-ball 5 on his final knock as Sixers chased 187 to win to join second-placed Heat on six points.
