Canterbury Christ Church University win Pharon Indoor title

Canterbury Christ Church University’s cricketers made history by becoming the first student team to win the Canterbury Pharon Indoor League title.

Christ Church beat varsity rivals University of Kent on Sunday to secure their 12^th win from 14 matches to seal top spot at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

2015 champions Canterbury cannot catch the students with one game remaining in the winter tournament held in the Ames Levett Sports Centre.

Christ Church’s superior shot selection and positive running were key features of their good batting displays.

In the field, sharp reflexes and clever tactics meant they were a formidable unit in 2016.

The champions will now progress to contest the county final to take on the best sides from across the county.
