One of Kent Cricket’s greatest supporters has been thanked for his donations to support young cricket talent in the county for more than a decade.
Businessman Charlie Harris has provided funding for a variety of projects which has included the upgrading of outdoor net facilities, Academy scholars going on overseas trips and the introduction of an Academy Associate Fast and Spin Bowling programme headed up by former Kent and England players Mark Ealham and Min Patel.
During Charlie’s time supporting the Academy, 25 players have gone on to represent Kent’s senior teams with Joe Denly, Lydia Greenway, Natasha Farrant and Sam Billings also selected for England.
Mr Harris is also a regular shirt package supporter, receiving three sets of first-team shirts signed by squad players this season.
Kent Cricket CEO Jamie Clifford said: “Charlie has been a big supporter of Kentish cricket for many years.
“His passion for the providing opportunities for young talent is infectious and he shares our vision in developing homegrown talent to shine on the county and international stage.
“With the support of Charlie and others we are able to invest in facilities and coaching programmes, both in the UK and overseas, for the promising players and continue the rich crop of talent we see representing Kent.”
