Charlie Hartley to play in Tanzania tournament

Kent seamer Charlie Hartley has begun his preparations for the 2017 season in exotic climes with a spell playing in Tanzania.

The 23-year-old suffered a shoulder injury fielding in club cricket in South Africa in November 2016 and was forced to miss the FGS Plant Tour to the West Indies earlier this year to complete his rehabilitation.

Hartley has joined St Gobain Strikers in the Advanced Players League T20 competition and will undertake some warm-weather training before pre-season starts later this month.

He made two impressive one-day appearances for Kent last season taking two wickets in the Royal London One-Day Cup quarter-final against Yorkshire.

2017 tickets are now on sale.
