Wednesday 28th June 2017
Zak Crawley hit a half-century and Matt Hunn took 3/17 as several Kent players warmed up for the NatWest T20 Blast with a friendly against a Kent League XI at The County Ground, Beckenham.
After being invited to bat, the hosts started strongly as Crawley struck seven fours and a six in an innings of 56 off 39 balls.
The 19-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate shared stands of 35 with Alex Blake (8) and 52 with Adam Ball (25) before the spinners struck regularly to halt Kent’s progress.
Blackheath all-rounder Mehdi Abbas took 3/24 and club colleague Dipayan Paul took 3/17.
In reply, Hunn removed both openers before Tenterden batsman Ben Price hit 36 and Paul capped a fine all-round display with 75* off 54 balls to seal victory with an over to spare.
