Daniel Bell-Drummond presents Christ Church Sport Scholar awards

Kent batsman Daniel Bell-Drummond attended the Canterbury Christ Church University Sport Scholar Awards earlier this month to present an award to a colleague.
Kent Cricket Women's star Jennifer Jackson was among37 students who have been awarded scholarships for the 2014/2015 academic year.
The PGCE student recently visited Buckingham Palace with her teammates to be presented with the Lady Taverners Trophy byby the Duke of Edinburgh for winning theRoyal London Women's One-Day County Championship.
Sports scholarships at Canterbury Christ Church University are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional sporting talent or potential. The scholarships provide them with financial support; support in their studies and sports science support from SportsLab.
The students received their awards at a ceremony held in the St George’s Students’ Union building with special guests including the Lord Mayor of Canterbury Heather Taylor and Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Rama Thirunamachandran.
Paul Carney, Director of Sport at Canterbury Christ Church University, said: “Our Sport Scholarship programme has gone from strength to strength; we now have 37 sport scholars competing in a wide variety of sports.
"Our scholars compete regionally and internationally and many have had wonderful success over the past year and are a real credit to the University and the local area.”
