FORMER Kent batsman Neil Dexter continues to frustrate his old county“s victory chances in North London where the South African-born right-hander scored his second century of the game to see Middlesex in at lunch on 200 for three.
The home side, threatened with picking up the championship wooden spoon for the first time in their history, batted through the first session of this the fourth and final day without losing anymore wickets as Dexter (108*) and Dawid Malan (51*) survived against all Rob Key could throw at them.
Dexter, fresh from a career-best 146 in the first innings, reached three figures again from 139 balls and with 18 fours and a six while left-hander Malan kept him company with a 151-ball half-century.
Following on 296 in arrears, Middlesex will steed need to bat through much of the next session in order to stave off defeat.
