Kent Cricket has appointed Emma Santer as its new Commercial Director, leading the sales and marketing department.

The former General Manager of Folkestone Racecourse also worked at Freedom Leisure, managing three sites in Kent before a spell as CEO at Plumpton Racecourse.

The Kent-born director lives near Hythe and loves to watch and practice a wide range of sports. Ms Santer said: “I come from a very sporty family and this job represents a fantastic opportunity to use the skills I have developed during my career.

“It’s an exciting time for the organisation on and off the pitch with our on-field success in Twenty20 and one-day cricket, the return to The County Ground, Beckenham and the continuing development of The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

“I have worked with many of the Kent-based sponsors and business partners before and I look forward to attracting more support for the club and community team.”

Kent Cricket CEO Jamie Clifford said: “There was a very strong field of candidates and Emma came through a thorough selection process.

"Emma has built up a great deal of experience working in sport and within Kent with her work at Folkestone Racecourse and Freedom Leisure. I am sure she will be an excellent addition to the off-field team.

"Whilst welcoming Emma, I would like to put on record thanks to Pat Mellsop from all who are involved with the Club for his efforts over the last five years. He has done an excellent job and will be much missed.”

Emma will take up her post next month succeeding Pat Mellsop, as he returns home to New Zealand to take up a post at the University of Waikato.
