England Women to play ODI at The Spitfire Ground

Kent will host women’s world champions England as they play South Africa at The Spitfire Ground in a Royal London One-Day International on Friday 15 June 2018.

The day-night fixture will be a repeat of the 2017 World Cup semi-final when England triumphed before defeating India in the final at Lord’s.

The fixture, which is set to start at 2pm, is part of the ICC Women’s Championship which will decide automatic qualification for the 2021 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.

Clare Connor, ECB Director of Women’s Cricket said: “Last summer’s World Cup success must be the watershed moment for our game that everyone is saying it could be. We will measure that through on-pitch performances, ticket sales, numbers of viewers and listeners and our ability to attract new fans and participants.

“The 2018 schedule is an exciting one across both white ball formats and will ensure that more people around the country have the chance to watch the team.”
