Monday 18th September 2017

Tony Levick, former Treasurer of Kent County Cricket Club has died.

He served the county for 19 years as Honorary Treasurer from 1976 to 1987 and once more 1992 to 1998 and also served as a General Committee member from 1974 to 1976 and again from 1990 to 1993.

In 1998 he was appointed as the Club’s President and was an Honorary Life Member of the Club.

Kent chairman Simon Philip said: “We are all greatly saddened by Tony’s death. He was an outstanding servant of the Club, both as Honorary Treasurer and President.

“His long service as Treasurer came when that role was far more onerous and Tony gave a huge amount of time to the Club over many years.

“At a personal level, I will miss his constant support and encouragement, which was particularly well received when the Club was going through tough financial times in recent years.

“Any time spent with Tony was never a waste and his impish humour lit up any room that he was in. He will be much missed.”

The Club flag will fly at half-mast in Tony’s memory on the first day of the next home fixture against Glamorgan.
