Frindsbury retain KCB T20 club title at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence

Frindsbury Cricket Club retained the Kent Cricket Board (KCB) T20 competition in a highly competitive finals day.

The KCB T20 competition is divided into seven groups to encourage lower league clubs to help retain and develop players.

The Finals Day was comprised of four teams from around the county that had won their regional groups and a Quarter Final to get on the road to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

The final quartet were 2013 champions Frindsbury from Medway, Littlebourne near Canterbury, Bromley Common and Tonbridge.

Adam Hodder, Kent Cricket Board Development Officer said: “It’s been a great day. The cricket has been played in the correct spirit and everyone has contributed to a well-run event, with thanks to the clubs for entering and bringing all their supporters with them.

“Kent County Cricket Club has been extremely supportive to club cricket by allowing us to use The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence to play the finals on.”

KCB T20 FINALS DAY RESULTS

Semi Final 1:Frindsbury CC: 141 – 7, Littlebourne CC: 106 – 9, Frindsbury CC won by 35 runs.

Semi Final 2:Tonbridge CC: 160 – 6, Bromley Common CC: 90 all out, Tonbridge CC won by 70 runs.

Final:Frindsbury CC: 181 – 5, Tonbridge CC: 158 – 9, Frindsbury CC won by 23 runs.
