Hartley makes comeback and Hunn takes wickets in Newcastle

Charlie Hartley made his comeback from injury for Newcastle City at Stockton-Raymond Terrace in New South Wales.

The 21-year-old seamer has only batted so far in Australia as a precaution for a stiff back.

Skipper and Kent colleague Mitch Claydon led with example with the bat and top-scored with 29 off 34 balls.

City’s top order collapsed to 7-4 after winning the toss and batting first with Ben Harmison out for a fourth-ball duck.

Hartley scored seven on his first grade return and Matt Hunn was out for a second-ball duck as the visitors were all out for 71.

In reply, Hunn continued his fine form with the ball by taking three wickets for 28 runs in a five-over spell.

Hartley bowled two overs on his comeback for six runs including a maiden.

Hunn’s three wickets were the only dismissals as Stockton sealed a seven-wicket win.
