Henry takes 3 wickets as Kent eye chase
Matt Henry took two of three late wickets with the second new ball as Kent restricted Glamorgan’s lead to 193 on a sunny second day in Cardiff.
The New Zealander (3/59) now has 26 wickets in three matches after the visitors earned a 80-run lead before the hosts dug in under blue skies at Sophia Gardens.

The 26-year-old was supported well by Darren Stevens (2/57) and Harry Podmore (2/54) after opener Jack Murphy (54) and Australia Test batsman Shaun Marsh (76) shared the biggest stand of the match so far.
Stevens struck early as he trapped former Kent second XI opener Nick Selman LBW for the second time in the match before Murphy and Marsh made hay in the sunshine, adding 126 in 35.4 overs.
The partnership ended in calamitous fashion as Murphy called the Ashes-winning left-hander through for an injudicious single and Will Gidman’s direct hit made the most of the hesitation between the pair.
The scoring slowed after the Australian’s departure and his former partner was the next to go as he nicked Henry to Kuhn at slip before Aneurin Donald was trapped LBW in the following over from Podmore.
Wicketkeeper Adam Rouse then took the first of three catches either side of tea: Chris Cooke off Stevens, a pearler low to his right to dismiss Kiran Carlson off Gidman before Henry made the most of the second new ball to entice the edge of Andrew Salter.
Henry, buoyed by the run of wickets, removed the dangerous David Lloyd (46) who fenced outside off stump to find Heino Kuhn at slip.
After Stevens was withdrawn late in the day for bowling a second accidental overhead beamer, Harry Podmore trapped Marchant de Lange to leave Glamorgan effectively 193 for nine at stumps.
With the weather set fair for the rest of the match, Kent will be aiming to remove one of the two new batsmen early on Sunday before chasing victory.
