Denly was the first graduate of the Kent Cricket Academy to play first-class and international cricket and returned to the club in 2014 after a three-year spell at Middlesex.

The 30-year-old said: "I am enjoying my cricket as much as I ever have and feel I'm entering my prime years as a batsman.

"I look forward to contributing towards hopefully bringing silverware back to The Spitfire Ground over the next few years."

Denly has scored more than 12,000 runs in 302 senior games for the county since his debut in 2004 and was the first Canterbury-born cricketer to be capped by the club.

Kent Cricket CEO Jamie Clifford said: "Joe is a core member of our side in all formats and we are delighted that he has committed his future to the Club.

"He is extremely popular with members and supporters and I am sure he will play a big part in helping deliver the success we all crave."
