Kent Cricket Academy Scholars Natasha Farrant and Henry Pickering received some excellent news this week, when they were both named in England squads.

Seventeen year old left arm seamer, Natasha Farrant has received her first call up to the England Women’s squad, for two NatWest Women’s one-day internationals and two NatWest Women’s International T20 matches against Pakistan. Natasha has been named in a 15-player squad, which includes fellow Kent women’s cricketers, Charlotte Edwards (captain) and Lydia Greenway.

Henry Pickering has been selected for the England Development Programme U18s in the 2nd XI T20 Tournament. The purpose of this tournament is for the England Development Programme selectors to observe those players on the fringes of the EDP, so Henry may soon be progressing further.

Natasha has progressed through the England women’s performance pathway, impressing selectors in the women’s County Championship and during the on-going Super 4s competition. Henry has been with the Kent Cricket Academy for a number of years, during which he has made excellent progress.

Kent Cricket High Performance Director, Simon Willis commented on the news; “We are very proud of both Natasha and Henry’s selection in the various England squads.

“It is great recognition for the hard work they have put in over the last couple of years, and we wish them both well in the coming weeks.”
