After a successful three year partnership, Kent County Cricket Club announced today the extension of their partnership with Samurai International Sportswear Ltd, a leading independent UK owned bespoke multisport kit manufacturer.

Samurai Sales Director, Richard Brand, noted that; “the partnership with Kent was our first venture into cricket, having come from a Rugby background. We have found it to be an excellent fit and are excited by the work being done at the Club, both from a ground development perspective and the commercial infrastructure being created. It is pleasing to see the Club’s faith in us and the partnership, and for the term to be extended to a five year period.”

Kent Cricket CEO, Jamie Clifford, stated that, “it was very encouraging to have five leading sportswear companies tender for our kit contract. We are very pleased to extend our contract with Samurai and have always been impressed by the quality of their apparel and their ability to deliver on time. The new, innovative aspects of the partnership made the decision very straightforward for us.”

The new deal is for a long term period, with increases in core benefits to the Club, and a range of joint venture aspects included.

“For any club, the kit supplier is a core partner. Through new opportunities we intend to be Samurai’s number one customer, as we look forward to more ways of generating revenue for both organisations,” said Clifford. “Creating new income streams and a year-round model is central to the new partnership.”
