Kent Cricket goes back to school with St Lawrence College

Kent County Cricket Club today announced a new partnership with St Lawrence College, Ramsgate, establishing the Independent School as a member of their Team Kent Business Club.

The partnership is the first formal agreement entered into by the County Club with a school, and, as with other commercial agreements, includes a variety of benefits for both parties.

Commenting on the move Kent Cricket CEO, Jamie Clifford, noted that; “St Lawrence College has been one of the leading schools in the County for many years. The College has ambitious goals both for its cricket and the ongoing development of the school. The partnership between the two organisations is a very positive, innovative move.”

In addition to the wide range of promotional opportunities the school will harness through the Team Kent package, the partnership will also offer St Lawrence College scholarship opportunities for promising young cricketers. The College will also sponsor the annual ‘St Lawrence College Cup’, a local secondary school cricket match, to be hosted by Kent Cricket at the St Lawrence Ground.

Following the announcement, St Lawrence College Headmaster, Mark Aitken, commented; “We are a school with a long history of achievement and innovation. It is great to be working closely with Kent Cricket to both improve the standard of cricket within the school and to promote St Lawrence College as one of the leading Independent schools in Kent.”

The partnership is initially for atwelve month period.
