Kent Cricket off-season events Calendar

Men’s First Team

Kent County Cricket Club has launched a programme of off-season events for Members and Supporters of the Club. These include a series of relaxing afternoon teas, featuring topical guest speakers and a formal evening Cricket Dinner with former Kent Cricket Captain, Matthew Fleming.

Enjoy afternoon tea with:

1. David Robertson – Kent County Cricket Club Curator. David will be presenting a 15 minute insight into the history of the Club. This will include the Club's origins, key personalities, great players, victories and noteworthy Club events and milestones. Tuesday 19th November, 2.30pm in the Chiesman Pavilion.

2. Martin Moseling & Tony Quarrington, authors of ‘A Half-Forgotten Triumph, the story of Kent’s County Championship title of 1913.’ Martin and Tony will share insights from this marvellous year, including a range of photos.Tuesday 10th December,2.30pm in the Chiesman Pavilion.

3. Steve Tindall – 30 years as aircrew in the RAF, committee Member on the Battle of Britain Trust and an expert on WWII history, especially the Battle of Britain and Bomber Command's campaign against Germany. Steve will be sharing his insights into the Battle, including the crucial role the Spitfire fighter played in the ultimate victory. Tuesday 21st January, 2.30pm in the Chiesman Pavilion.

4. David Robertson, Howard Milton and Derek Carlaw – three of the leading historians and statisticians of Kent Cricket. Our three fine gentlemen will be sharing a range of fascinating historic insights and statistics on all things Kent. Come armed with all the obscure questions you can think of! Tuesday 25th February, 2.30pm in the Chiesman Pavilion.

Each afternoon tea costs £8.00, which includes tea, coffee and scones. Timing will be 2.30pm arrival (with drinks available), 2.45pm presentation, 3.00pm question time, 3.15pm scones and tea served.

An Evening with Matthew Fleming

Former Kent Cricket Captain, England One Day International and current ECB Board Member, Matthew Fleming will be guest speaker at our formal evening dinner on Thursday 30th January. Matthew was the winner of the Walter Lawrence Trophy in 2002 for the fastest century of the year. It was scored against the touring Sri Lankan team, 66 balls, the Club’s International guests in 2014.

Matthew will be sharing the highlights of his cricketing career and give us some insights into where the current game is at.
