Wednesday 22nd May 2013

Kent County Cricket Club is saddened to learn of the death of former Kent Cricket Medical Advisor Reg Jones, at the age of 73.

Reg Jones was the Club’s Medical Advisor with Maxwell Landau from 1978 to 1985. He then worked alongside Richard Collins in the role from 1985 until his retirement in 1996.

Commenting on the news, Richard Collins said; “Reg was a super chap. He was very popular and an excellent Medical Officer during the 70s and 80s. He had recently moved to the Isle of Man, and he died following a brave fight with a long illness.”

It is hoped that a Memorial Service will be held in Folkestone within the next four to six weeks and details will be circulated when available.

Our thoughts are with Reg’s family and friends at this sad time.
