Kent go out of Super 50 with T&T defeat

Reigning Caribbean Super50 champions Trinidad and Tobago avenged their earlier defeat to Kent with a convincing win at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Red Force ended the county’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals after winning the toss and dismissing Kent for 194 in the sixth match of the FGS Plant Tour.
Will Gidman’s first List A half-century for Kent (the third of his career) in 50 stands with Darren Stevens and Alex Blake gave the tourists hope of a defendable score but international pacemen Shannon Gabriel (1/25 in 8 overs) and Ravi Rampaul (4/37 in 10) proved too much.
In reply, a century stand from another West Indies duo, Jason Mohammed (78*) and Denesh Ramdin (56) in 125 balls helped the eleven-time Caribbean one-day champions home with 8.4 overs to spare.
Stevens was again the pick of the Kent attack with 3/34 from 10 overs as Matt Coles and Gidman kept it tight up top before Mohammed and Ramdin accelerated towards the total with the luxury of overs and wickets in hand.
Coles eventually broke the marathon partnership as Ramdin gloved a short ball to Rouse, who took a fine legside catch before Primus was run out without facing a ball.
Kent next face Windward Islands Volcanoes on Friday at 5.30pm GMT (live on BT Sport ESPN) before the final group game against West Indies Under-19s on Sunday (1pm GMT).
