Kent name squad ahead of Yorkshire LV= CC match at the St Lawrence Ground

Wednesday 25th April 2012

Men’s First Team

An unbeaten Kent side will hope to dodge the April showers and continue their impressive start to the season when they welcome Yorkshire to the St Lawrence Ground on Thursday 26th April.

The two sides have already met this season in the LV= County Championship, when rain ensured Yorkshire were able to hold out for a draw at Headingley in the first round of fixtures, after Kent had dominated proceedings – click here for the Match Report.

The Kent squad forthis match is largely unchanged, with the addition of Sam Northeast and Daniel Bell-Drummond bringing the squad number to thirteen. Sam Northeast has been captaining the Kent Second Team, and Daniel Bell-Drummond recently returned from the England U19s Quadrangular Series in Australia. Jimmy Adams commented ahead of the match; "We’ve met all the challenges well as a unit. From what I’ve seen, I think we have the ability and more importantly, we have the right attitude. That will help us go a long way as there will be things we haven’t catered for coming up and that character plugs gaps better than whether you have ability or not. The early signs are good and I’m backing the players to continue in the same vein, stay positive and at the same time stay focused.”

* Update 26/04/12: Captain Rob Keywill not play in this matchdue to an ankle injury. Sam Northeast takes his place in the team, Geraint Jones captains Kent in this match – updated squad below. *
