Kent name squad ahead of Yorkshire LV=CC match

Kent have named their squad ahead oftheirfirstLV=CC match, against Yorkshire at Headlingley on Thursday.

The squad includes recent Kent signings – Scott Newman (on loan), Ben Harmison, Brendan Nash, Mike Powell, Mark Davies and Charlie Shreck. Former Kent Cricket Academy scholar Ivan Thomas completes the twelve man squad.

Ben Harmison comes into this match fresh off the back a great performance against Glamorgan in their two-day friendly last week. Harmison hit an unbeaten 130, with overseas signing Brendan Nash (74) joining him in a third wicket stand of 150 as Kent amassed 312 for 5 in reply to Glamorgan’s 263.

Announcing the squad, Jimmy Adams commented; “After a good pre-season we’re all looking forward to our first game at Headingley."

Rob Key commented on this season's squad selection process during the Club’s Media Day on Friday; “We’ve created an environment where there’s competition for places. When I got into the side all those years ago, you had to force your way in and I’d like to think we’re back to that position now.

“The feeling we’ve had in pre-season, from Antigua to being back at home, people are on their toes now and that’s where you want to be as a cricket team.” Click here for the full interview with Rob Key
