Kent Spitfires squad to face Sussex Sharks at Hove (Fri, 7pm)

Kent Spitfires have named a 14-man squad for the trip to Hove to face Sussex Sharks on Friday evening (7pm) in the NatWest T20 Blast.

Spitfires are on a roll after back-to-back wins in white-ball cricket following final-over wins against Surrey and Hampshire and face a strong Sharks side at the 1st Central County Ground.

Kent head coach Jimmy Adams has added Mitch Claydon and Matt Hunn to the squad travelling to the south coast and says the squad are relishing six white-ball matches in ten days.

The former West Indies Test batsman said: “When you have so many games in such a short space of time it offers the opportunity to build some momentum but at the same time there is no time to dwell on anything if you have a bad result – there is always a game around the corner.

“With so many games, there might come a time when we have to prioritise one or another but we are not at that stage, we want everyone to be 100% and ready to go every day.”

Sussex Sharks have extended the stay of South Africa all-rounder David Wiese as the arrival of Bangladeshi paceman Mustafizur Rahman has been delayed through injury.

The hosts can call upon New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor, England T20 player Chris Jordan and former England opener Luke Wright.
