Kent Spitfires v Essex Eagles squad news

Kent Spitfires will play Essex Eagles as the Battle of the Bridge resumes at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Thursday (6.30pm start).

It is also Spitfire Boys’ Night Out, where pre-bought ticket holders can claim a free pint of Kent Cricket’s official beer and a packet of Kent Crisps using the code SPITFIRE before 9pm tonight to start the night in style (T&Cs apply, see www.kentcricketshop.co.uk for more details).

Arch rivals Essex Eagles are the visitors and leapfrogged Kent in the South Group standings last week so the hosts will be keen to use home advantage to go above their neighbours.

A vocal crowd is expected as the sides fight out to win the Mike Denness Challenge Shield contested between the counties in honour of the former Kent and Essex opener.

Head coach Jimmy Adams said: "We won’t play at home in the NatWest T20 Blast for another four weeks so I hope the Supporters can come along on Thursday and get behind the lads.

"This format is all about fine margins so your support really does help the team."
