Kent suffer heavy second eleven defeat

A combined Kent and Northants eleven were comfortably beaten by Yorkshire in their second eleven match at Beckenham.

Yorkshire declared their first innings on their overnight score of 390 for six and then bowled Kent/Northants out for just 122 to win by an innings and 112 runs. Academy batsman Chris Piesley was the onlyplayer to make any real impact– the youngster contributed 33.

The game marked the return to fitness of England fast-bowler Amjad Khan and he could now feature in the LVCounty Championship match against Essex, starting at Tunbridge Wells on the 16 of June.
