Kent’s 12-man squad features the XI that played a hard-fought draw at Bristol last week and Grant Stewart offering a fresh alternative to the pace attack after a lay-off with a hamstring injury.

Adam Rouse will again keep wicket with Sam Billings on England ODI duty as Kent rest a few niggles with Mitch Claydon (groin) and Calum Haggett (back) as well as injured James Tredwell (shoulder) not in the squad.

Warwickshire are without batsman Sam Hain who is on England Lions duty and all-rounder Aaron Thomason and Olly Stone are out with side strains.

Batsman Adam Hose (quadracep) or 21-year-old all-rounder Matthew Lamb could deputise for Hain in the middle order with prolific Australia-born paceman Ryan Sidebottom back from a side strain to take his place in a 14-man squad.

The visitors have won just one of ten Championship matches in the Royal Spa Town with their only success coming in 1976 in the absence of Kent’s England trio of Alan Knott, Derek Underwood and Bob Woolmer on Test duty at Trent Bridge.

Kent squad: 6 Joe Denly (c), 23 Daniel Bell-Drummond, 16 Zak Crawley, 58 Sean Dickson, 24 Matt Henry, 4 Heino Kuhn, 1 Harry Podmore, 33 Adam Riley, 12 Adam Rouse (wk), 3 Darren Stevens, 9 Grant Stewart, 5 Ivan Thomas.

Warwickshire squad: 35 Will Rhodes, 45 Dominic Sibley, 4 Ian Bell, 9 Jonathan Trott, 21 Adam Hose, 7 Matthew Lamb, 11 Tim Ambrose (wk), 13 Keith Barker, 5 Jeetan Patel (c), 31 Chris Wright, Henry Brookes, 22 Ryan Sidebottom, 20 Oliver Hannon-Dolby, 14 Josh Poysden.

There’s plenty of parking at The Nevill Ground. £10 per car, pay on the gate from 10am.

For motorists driving to Tunbridge Wells via the A21 and A264 Pembury Road, diversions are in place on Forest Road due to roadworks between the junctions with Bayhall Road / Halls Hole Road and Teise Close for resurfacing/road works.

Diversions are in place so visitors are advised to stay on the A264 towards the town centre via Bayhall Rd, Crescent Rd and Church Rd before turning left onto A26 London Road and turning left at the roundabout onto Nevill St and left to approach the ground from the other end of Warwick Park.
