Madness to play The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury

Pop legends Madness are set to perform at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury, on Friday 11 September 2015 as part of Grandslam Madness, the UK’s greatest ever live open air tour ever.

Fresh from their sold-out 2014 arena tour, frontman Suggs said: “Come see, come see! The world’s strongest band perform incredible feats live!

“Marvel as Madness lift an enormous set of polished pop songs high in the air, single handed! The UK's biggest open air tour ever! Rolling into a town near you, soon.”

Madness will be performing inimitable quirky pop classics such as House of Fun, Baggy Trousers and My Girl, iconic songs that are guaranteed to draw you in, get you dancing and singing along at the home of Kent Cricket.

The band will also be performing some new songs, their first new recordings in three years.

The tour, which runs from May to September 2015, will take in 19 shows at some of the greatest sporting venues around the country, including racecourses, cricket grounds, rugby and football stadiums.

These shows will offer concertgoers the unique experience of an outdoor event with a festival vibe, set within these the amazing sporting venues.

“With Suggs being a Whitstable resident it will be a bit of a homecoming and I am sure people in Kent will welcome him and the Madness boys with a great deal of enthusiasm.

“We are expecting tickets to sell out quickly and anticipate that this event will firmly re-establish us as one of the region’s premier venues for live music.”

General admission costs £35, family tickets cost £99 (admits two adults and two children up to the age of 16 years).
