Opener Northeast hits sparkling century in second team win

Opener Sam Northeast (pictured) hit a sparkling unbeaten 152 as Kent recorded a comfortable 108 run victory over Surrey in the Second XI Trophy at Canterbury. Batting first, Kent scored 299-4 from their 50 overs with Northeast in scintillating form.

Academy graduates Adam Riley (4-44) and Adam Ball (2-10) then starred with the ball as Surrey were dismissed for just 191 in the 46th over.

The two sides meet again in the Second XI Championship, starting on Wednesday, at Canterbury. Admission is free so please come along to the St Lawrence Ground and show your support.
