Parnell set for comeback against Sussex at Hove

South Africa fast bowler Wayne Parnell is set to make his Kent comeback, eight years after marking his debut as a teenager.

The 27-year-old rejoined Kent on a short-term contract before a busy summer of international cricket with the Champions Trophy and a Test series against England.

The left-armer said: “It’s nice to be back and see so many people from last time I was here which shows what a good club it is although a lot has changed off the field.

“It’s been a very busy winter at home and touring with South Africa although I’ve had a few weeks off and I’m ready to get stuck in.”

Sean Dickson returns to the squad after resting a minor hamstring injury and loan signings James Harris (Middlesex) and Joe Weatherley (Hampshire) feature in Kent’s 13-man squad.

For the hosts, Matt Machan (wrist), Luke Wells (knee) and Ollie Robinson (shin) are missing from the squad through injury.
