Sam Billings: Buttler knock has inspired England batsmen

Kent's Sam Billings hopes England's batsmen were inspired by Jos Buttler's record-breaking innings against Pakistan.

The Kent Cricket Academy graduate played in England's T20 warm-up against UAE on Monday and says the fastest ODI century by an English batsmen is an inspiration.

The 24-year-old Pembury-born wicketkeeper-batsman said: "It was a phenomenal innings, and a pleasure to watch. We're all trying to emulate something like that on a personal level.

"The pleasing thing is that I think we have numerous individuals who can make performances like that happen.

"You look to aspire to do things like that. You've done it at county level, so it's about emulating it at international level.

"If I get an opportunity, I'll give it 100 per cent … and hope it will come off."
