Second XI entertain Essex at Polo Farm
Kent take on Essex in the Second XI Championship at Polo Farm (Mon-Wed 17-19 July) and there is an opportunity for a few academy scholars to impress.
All-rounder Adam Ball leads the side with five players with first class experience and three Kent Cricket Academy scholars.
Left-arm seamer Ollie Hills makes his red-ball debut for the second XI after taking a wicket in the T20 against Unicorns last week alongside batsman Jordan Cox and leg-spinner Jan Gray.
Matt Hunn and Ivan Thomas (back) and Charlie Hartley (side) are closing in on a return to action following niggles. Jordan Cox and Bexley wicketkeeper Calum Basey will share the gloves as Adam Rouse is sidelined with a minor shoulder injury.
