Spitfires qualify for the T20 quarter-finals

Thursday 25th June 2009

THE Kent Spitfires have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Twenty20 Cup after a seven wicket victory over the Hampshire Hawks at the Rose Bowl. The win lifts the Spitfires on to 13 points – top of the T20 South Division.

Chief Executive, Paul Millman, was naturally a happy man after the Spitfires victory: “This is a great evening for Kent County Cricket Club. The boys did very well to win at the Rose Bowl while the Sugababes concert was most enjoyable at Canterbury. Tonight“s win means we will finish in the top three of our group and that means a place in Division One of next season“s EPL. A win on Sunday, at Beckenham, will give us a home tie in the last eight so I urge all supporters to come out in great numbers and help cheer us on to victory over our old rivals, Surrey Brown Caps.

Tickets will be available on the day for Sunday“s match between the Kent Spitfires and the Surrey Brown Caps. The game starts at 14.30. Come along and help cheer the Spitfires on to a place in the quarter-finals!
