Stevens and Denly hit centuries as Kent pile runs
Darren Stevens passed 14,000 first class runs with his 32nd first class century as Kent piled on the runs against Leeds-Bradford MCCU at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.
Joe Denly also reached three figures for the 19th time in his career as Kent warmed up for the start of the Specsavers County Championship season on Friday 7 April.
Denly shared half-century stands with Sean Dickson and stand-in skipper Will Gidman after Adam Ball was bowled in the third over.
Dickson was adjudged LBW and Gidman nicked to Martin Andersson at slip before the century-makers put Kent firmly in control.
Denly was bowled shortly after reaching his landmark to bring Alex Blake to the crease who played a patient knock to reach 46 not out at the close
Stevens eventually dragged on before Blake reached stumps with Calum Haggett and Kent on 343 for five.
Day 2 starts at 11am with entry to the match and parking free of charge.
