Stevens signs contract extention

We are delighted to announce that all-rounder Darren Stevens has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Kent until the end of the 2019 season.

The 42-year-old is now closing in on 15,000 first class runs after his 64 against Middlesex at Lord’s on Monday and is also now just one wicket away from reaching the 450 milestone after taking 4-44 in Middlesex’s first innings.

His career-best first class innings is 208 for Kent against Glamorgan at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in 2005 while his best bowling return is 8 for 75 against his former county Leicestershire last season, also in Canterbury.

Stevens, who celebrated his Benefit Year in 2016, is also Kent’s all-time T20 top run-scorer.

Since joining Kent as a batsman in 2005, ‘Stevo’ has won our Player of the Year award three times – 2005, 2010 and 2013.
