The Twenty20 Cup: Hampshire Hawks v Kent Spitfires
26 June at The Rose Bowl

Kent Spitfires beat Hampshire Hawks by seven wickets

Hampshire Hawks won the toss and elected to bat

AN unbeaten 62 from Darren Stevens (pictured)led the Kent Spitfires to a comfortable seven-wicket victory and a place in the quarter-finals of the Twenty20 Cup.

An unbroken stand of 102 between Stevens and Geraint Jones (35) helped transform the innings and pushed Kent from the precarious position of 30 for three to their victory target of 132 with 13 balls to spare.

Earlier, the Hampshire Hawks were indebted to a knock of 45 from skipper Dimitri Mascarenhas. It helped them reach their total of 131 for seven. It looked a tricky victory target, especially when Kent lost the top three cheaply, but Stevens and Jones guided them home to a precious victory and a place in the last eight of the T20 Cup.

The Spitfires are back in action on Sunday when they play the Surrey Brown Caps at Beckenham. Tickets will be available on the day of the game. The action begins at 14.30. Please show your support, go along, and get behind Rob Key and the boys!
