Tash Farrant replaces injured Katherine Brunt in England squad

Kent seamer Natasha Farrant will replace injured Yorkshire fast bowler Katherine Brunt for the remainder of England women’s tour of South Africa.

Brunt, who only bowled five overs during England women’s second One-Day International against South Africa after suffering from a back spasm, will return to the UK at the start of next week to undergo further investigation and start a rehabilitation programme.

The 30-year-old is expected to be available for selection for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in India next month.

Kent left-arm seamer Natasha Farrant will replace Brunt in the England women’s squad for the remainder of the tour and join county colleagues Tammy Beaumont, Charlotte Edwards and Lydia Greenway.

The 19-year-old will arrive in South Africa with Surrey's Natalie Sciver on Sunday (14February), in time for the start of the three-match Twenty20 International series, which gets underway in Paarl on Thursday (18February).
