Tredwell bags another five to pass 50 wickets for the season

KENT“S leading wicket-taker James Tredwell (pictured)bagged another five victims as Kent moved into a good position against Northants at Wantage Road.

Beginning day three on 147-5, Northants were soon bowled out for just 218, with Tredwell the chief wicket-taker; returning figures of 5-68 to pass 50 for the season. Riki Wessels was last man out for a spirited 74.

Leading by 36 on first-innings, Kent then moved into control. Wicketkeeper Geraint Jones (85 not out) shared a stand of 85 with opener Joe Denly (59) and an unbroken stand of 103 with Martin van Jaarsveld (52 not out), as Kent closed on 220-2, a lead of 256.
