Tredwell plays for England in Natwest IT20 win over India
Monday 8th September 2014
KENT'S James Tredwell produced a tidy four-over spell as England won a one-off Natwest International T20 at Edgbaston Stadium.
The hosts won the toss and chose to bat, posting 180-7 from their 20 overs thanks to captain Eoin Morgan's 71 off 31 balls, smashing three boundaries and seven sixes.
Moeen Ali opened the bowling with Steven Finn and was rewarded with the wicket of Ajinyka Rahane. India recovered through Shikhar Dharwan (33) and Virat Kohli (66) adding 79 for the second wicket.
However, the tourists could not keep pace with the chase as wickets from Finn, Chris Woakes and Harry Gurney restricted India to 177/5.
Ashford-born Tredwell bowled four overs, costing just 28 runs.
