Zak Crawley hits unbeaten 50 Down Under

Teen batsman Zak Crawley continued his fine form Down Under with an unbeaten half-century for Wembley Districts in Western Australia.

Opening the batting, the 18-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate struck a fluent 75 not out as Wembley won on first innings in the final First Grade match of 2016.

He averages 59 so far this winter in all formats at the top of the order and will spend the winter in Western Australia before the 2017 county season.

Meanwhile, Joe Denly took 2/15 in Sydney's New South Wales T20 semi-final defeat to Mosman at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Denly's fine four-over spell restricted their opponents to 120 before falling 10 runs short in the chase as the 30-year-old Kent batsman scored 10 off 11 balls.

In the Women’s Big Bash, Tammy Beaumont took a catch and scored 5 as Adelaide Strikers beat Sydney Thunder.

Teammate and ex-Kent captain Charlotte Edwards missed the match on her 37th birthday with back spasms and Kent’s player of 2016 Suzie Bates took 2/14 for Thunder.

Strikers sit third in the table, a point behind the top two (Melbourne Stars and Hobart Hurricanes) after four games.
