KENT’Ssecond eleven drew their latest Championship match with Surrey at Charterhouse School. The home side declared their second innings on 167-7 to set Kent avictory targetof 259 to win from a minimum 56 overs.

Despite thebest efforts of Fabian Cowdrey (42), Kent reached 142-8 when the two captainsshook hands on a draw. Cowdrey – who top scored in the run chase – replacedJames Goodman who was promoted to the first-team for their NatWest Pro40 game with Surrey atCanterbury. All-rounder Charlie Hemphrey hit 23.
